Through my lens ~ Natural Sponge

Loofah Sponge~ Berakaya peechu in telugu

Wondering what is this? and why for click event?

This month's CLICK Event theme is Wood. Portray in any form shape and size. So I thought why not this natural sponge which we use as a bathing sponge, brisk rubbing with Loofah sponge will exfoliate the skin and stimulate circulation.

We call it as berakaya peechu in telugu. It is made from drying out the biggest ridge gourds or chinese okra to get seeds for planting next year. The flesh gets dried out and the gourd is left with fibrous sponge like texture and ready to use. To know more details check this link

Through My Lens ~ Few guessed it right

Through my lens ~ guess......

Remember I asked 10 days back about the photo I posted in Through my lens ~ Guess! Yeah.... those are peach pits/seeds! Many thought they were Walnuts, Almonds, Akhrot etc etc...

Only Aparna, Sia and Rachel were able to guess it correctly! Now here is a close up look at these Peach Pits.

Through my lens ~ Coffee Stains

"Through my lens" is a new series of food photography. An idea to portray beautiful things I indulge in every day life and share the moments with my friends and visitors to this blog. This series primarily focus on food and things related to it (food). Today I tried to click coffee stained paper through my lens.

The above picture goes to Click July 2008. This month's theme is Coffee and Tea.

Materials used: Coffee Mug, coffee stained paper towel, brown textured paper used in background to compliment coffee stains.
Camera: Sony Cybershot DSCP100.
About photo: taken in bright sunlight beaming from window and without flash.
Nicks & Knacks: adjusted the brightness and contrast.

"The coffee stains clicked here is not wasted intently for the snap, but indeed was spilled by mistake when my hand hit the coffee mug in my refrigerator. I wanted to make a cold coffee but nevertheless I ended up clicking the dried out paper towel instead for this event ;)"

Egg Portfolio !!!

When Bee & Jai announced about the Click event and this month's theme Eggs. I started visualizing eggs in every form and shape and how to capture their beauty. These snaps are my sincere efforts to bring out the very best snaps captured under the naked sun!

Egg-centric is the right word for this event post as you see I was revolving round the eggs for quiet a some time to capture those beauties!

Being a budding photographer and photoshop learner, here are my contributions for this event. I used sunny side egg magnet as props along with Raw Eggs to enhance the beauty of egg in all the photos, I hope this qualifies my entry.

First snaps under the sun, here I used gold dusted paper in the background to capture the colorful reflection of the eggs.

Cooling Buddies!

Same photo as above but I flipped the image and used a different shade,
also note the original color of egg shells peels are captured here!

Another photoshop trick to blur the background image and highlight the main object

I wanted to capture the dew drops formed on a cold egg
clicked at room temperature ~
